Eddy Current Inspection

Eddy current inspection is a versatile and efficient method for detecting surface flaws and material properties without damaging the object. It can be used as production control but is most commonly applied for in-service inspection of welds, lifting equipment, and other equipment in operation. Eddy currents can detect defects even through paint and coatings, making it a flexible solution for various applications.

Eddy Current can be used for

  • Inspection of Welds for Surface Flaws

    • Effective in detecting cracks, porosity, and other surface defects in welds.

  • Inspection of Bolt Holes

    • Used to identify defects and wear in bolt holes, ensuring structural integrity.

  • Material Sorting

    • Identification of material types and sorting based on properties like conductivity and composition.

Benefits of Eddy Current Inspection:

  • Non-Destructive: Maintains the integrity of the material during the inspection.

  • High Sensitivity: Capable of detecting even small surface flaws with great precision.

  • Works Through Paint and Coatings: Reduces preparation time as the method can be applied without removing surface treatments.

  • Fast and Efficient: Ideal for inspecting large areas and repeated testing.

Eddy current inspection is a reliable method for ensuring safety, quality, and reliability across various industries.
