Practical Welding Supervision
During the construction work it is important that all processes are followed closely. We offer to deliver this service and we ensure that all processes are monitored and documented as agreed.
Our typical process:
Planning and startup phase:
- Review Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) procedures
- Review of NDT procedures
- Review of Welding Procedures (WPS)
- Review of all other relevant procedures. This could be paint and coating procedures, Post Weld Heat Treatment procedures (PWHT), hardness test procedures, pressure test procedures etc.
- Review of material specifications for material to be used
- Review of technical drawings and other documents
- Review and commenting on Inspection and Test Plan (ITP) and final approval
- Participation in kick-off meetings
Production phase:
- Ensure HSE requirements are followed through the project
- Identify possible optimizations and update schedule accordingly in order to keep delivery date firm
- Forward daily report and updates to my managers and/or other stakeholders
- Ensure traceability for all used materials (e.g. steel and other weld consumables
- Review and acceptance of welder's certification
- Review and acceptance of NDT personal certification
- Witness and approve weld preparation and tack welding
- Follow the daily construction work
- Daily visual inspection of welding work in progression to ensure compliance with WPS and required procedures
- Witness all tests
- Inspect paint and coating work
- Witness, monitor and sign-off on ITP as required
- Participate in commissioning
If repair:
- Identify fault and damage and arrange repair
- Raise non-conformance report
- Review and approve repair plan
- Follow repair from start to end
- Final approval
